As we turn the calendar from 2020 to 2021, we herald the start of a special year: the 10th anniversary of Afina International. We are taking this opportunity to thank you for your support of our company and its mission.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic and the chaos it inflicted, we have sustained our momentum, pursued new sources of value, increased our long-term financial performance, and forged market opportunities for our client-partners.
When we launched a decade ago, we believed there was an opportunity to demonstrate that businesses could be a transformative force in solving global problems, benefiting society and improving human life quality while still being true to commercial profitability. We set out to bring together, through our network of relationships, out-of-box thinkers, entrepreneurs, financiers and business leaders to collaborate in building commercially powerful, sector leading, societally transformative and human centered technologies, products and services.
Today, we have deployed more than $500 million into transformative projects and have the privilege of working with some of the world’s most exciting pioneers of new, cutting edge, problem solving businesses, including in health care, financial markets, scalable regenerative farming and future foods.
With the beginning of 2021 and our gradual move into a post-COVID world, these challenging times have underscored the importance of trust, resilience, re-invention, and anti-fragility. Those are qualities that we see in our clients and partnerships and which inspire us towards further leveraging the “power of business to solve global problems” in the years ahead.
