Malou Innocent joined Afina in 2014 and leads the firm’s operations management, client communications, and corporate governance. Ms. Innocent also serves as an adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C. She has appeared on CNN, CBS, BBC, Fox News Channel, Al Jazeera, CNBC Asia and Reuters. She has written on national security issues and international affairs for Foreign Policy, Wall Street Journal Asia, Christian Science Monitor, the Guardian, Harvard International Review, and other outlets. She is the co-author of Perilous Partners: The Benefits and Pitfalls of America’s Alliance with Authoritarian Regimes. She earned B.A. degrees in Mass Communications and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago.
